Alexa Routines

Hi,

I have just bought a Smarter iKettle 3rd Gen and have set it up to Alexa. My question is, is it possible to add it to a list of routines. Like Alexa, Good morning and then designated lights come on, news plays and the kettle boils... This would be cool...

Many Thanks,

Dave

    Hello Dave,

You can add the iKettle to a list of routines. :)

A routine is essentially a bunch of timed Alexa commands, so the skill doesn’t have to know about it.

Let us know if you create any routines, we would love to hear how you are using your iKettle with Alexa!

    Best wishes,

    Hi Emma,

Thank you for your reply, I see it’s just been added as an option to add the kettle (thermostat) to the list of routines. It’s fantastic, I have set up a routine to turn some of the lights off, heated blanket (plug) off and the kettle to come on when I say Alexa - Good Morning :-)... It works wonderfully:-)... It would be good to be able to ask Alexa how much water is in the kettle :-).. maybe something to consider...

    Kind Regards,

    Dave

    Hi David,

What a great way to start the morning!

Lights on and cuppa on. :)

Unfortunately reporting on water level is a limitation of Alexa itself. :( She currently can not report on water levels as she doesn't recognise them.

Hopefully, in the future, Alexa will improve this so that she can also report on water levels!

    Best wishes,

    Emma
